All this angry feminisim ...

Is starting to wear me down. It's been two solid weeks since I read the cupcake story and got my undies all bunched up. Since Sarah Palin's nomination (she changed schools six times in six years! Oooh, what an academic all-star), the angry feminism has just kicked into high gear and I imagine it's going to stay there for a while.

But I need a break if I'm going to keep this up until Election Day. Doesn't dressing up like a school girl and being spanked sound like just the thing to refresh and renew my spirit?

Hello?

Oh my, angry feminism never sounded so appealing.

You should be angry. You should stay angry. There are fights to be had, battles to be won. And it all begins with not selling out to silly events like a SIEU concert about unions when across the river people trying to earn victories for unions were getting their asses kicked.

This is not to attack you if you were there, but rather groups like that who mistake what they do for activism.

Oh, I fully intend to stay angry.

And I was at the concert, but not out of any mistaken sense of activism. I was there to see Mos fucking Def. And The Pharcyde. And Atmosphere. And the acts we didn't see because St. Paul has been a police state for a week and we couldn't get to where we needed to go. But not Morello. He sucked.

Yes, yes it does.

I am geared up to be angry and opinionated for the next 2 months. Watch out.

You are not a feminist if you agree with Palin. Just saying.

I'm terribly glad to hear both JP and Frank agree with me.

Quite frankly, I'm opinionated all-year-round and I'm frequently angry, too. These next two months are just going to be kicked up to 11.

And honestly, I'm afraid, too. The prospect of a McCain/Palin White House is terrifying and makes me feel completely desperate and hopeless.

Agreed on Palin's not being a feminist. She certainly has benefitted from feminism, but the things she stands for are not good for women. You can't call yourself a feminist if that's the case.

Can you talk a bit more about the dressing up like a school girl and being spanked stuff?... I mean if it advances the cause and all that.

I'm not exactly sure what else there is to say about it, Jerious. It's a pretty straightforward concept. Short skirt, probably pigtails, bent over the spanker's knees ...

But I did make cupcakes last night, if that's worth anything.

Ok, so you have my attention.

Now what?

Well, I guess I don't really know now what. I still need to be spanked, dammit.
